Cesar Chavez Foundation

It was a community affair as the Orange Schools welcomed Andres Chavez, the grandson of Civil Rights Activist Cesar Chavez, to campus last week. Courtesy of the Orange Schools Foundation and coordinated by Spanish teacher Emily Macias, Andres Chavez was brought to our campus as a culminatng celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month. Chavez, the Executive Director of the Cesar Chavez Foundation, is kicking off a nationwide tour to commemorate the 100th anniversary of his grandfather, a legacy that will be memorialized by the Chavez Center throughout 2027 along with the motto is "Si, se puede!" Translated: "Yes, we can!".  Kiwanis hosted a luncheon event to meet Chavez at the end of his visit.
